Bulk generate summaries and FAQs across your site (Pro)
Processing a whole back catalogue as a resumable background job, and how to watch or stop it.
Last updated September 27, 2026
Bulk generation is the Pro answer to an existing archive. It works through your posts as a background job rather than asking you to open each one.
Where it is
The Bulk Summary and Bulk FAQ cards are in the RankReady admin. In the free plugin they are visible but inert; with Pro licensed they become working controls.
What a run needs before it will start
Bulk Summary needs a saved key for your active AI provider, the same key hand generation uses. Bulk FAQ needs that key and DataForSEO credentials: it builds from real People Also Ask questions, and it stays idle rather than falling back if either credential is missing. If a Bulk FAQ run does nothing at all, check the DataForSEO login and password in Settings first.
How a run behaves
- You start a run and choose its scope.
- Work proceeds in batches on a scheduled tick, not in one long request, so nothing times out and the site stays responsive.
- Progress is reported back to the card while it runs.
- You can stop a run. Work already completed is kept.
Because the job is resumable rather than atomic, a stopped or interrupted run leaves your site in a valid state with fewer posts processed, never a half-written one.
Before you start a large run
- Check the cost. A run over 800 posts is 800 provider calls. Read the API Usage report and your provider’s pricing first.
- Try a small scope. Process a handful of posts, read the output, and confirm you like the result before committing the archive.
- Check the language. If your content is not in English, confirm the output language on those first few posts. See FAQs generate in the wrong language.
If a run appears stuck
Bulk work depends on WP-Cron. If cron is disabled or your host runs it rarely, batches arrive slowly and a run can look stalled when it is only waiting. Confirm cron is healthy before treating it as a fault, and check the diagnostics report.
Bulk generation and auto-generation together
They solve different halves of the same problem. Bulk handles what you have already published; auto-generation handles everything you publish from now on. Most Pro sites turn on both once, and then stop thinking about generation.
