Turn the display off and the text still feeds all of the above. Generating a summary and hiding it from human readers is a legitimate configuration and it is supported.

A Gutenberg block, an Elementor widget, a shortcode, a sidebar widget, or automatic display before or after the content. Label, heading level and styling are settings.
A summary does not
make you quotable on its own.
Position is half of the pattern behind that 41.9 percent figure. Shape is the other half, and it is writing.
Three long clauses is the wrong shape
The mean cited sentence in that dataset ran 9.27 words and nothing over 18 words was cited once. A summary in the right place and the wrong shape does less than it should.
abstract is not a rich result
Populating it produces nothing in Google's search appearance. It exists so a machine parsing your graph finds an author supplied summary instead of guessing one.

It is summarising your post and it will occasionally miss the point. Every generated summary is editable before it goes anywhere, and it should be read.

Q. Is there a limit on how many summaries I can generate?
No. Manual generation is unlimited and uncapped, with no usage counter anywhere in the plugin. The only thing that costs money is your own provider key.
Q. Do I have to show the summary to readers?
No. Turn the visible output off and the generated text still feeds your schema, your llms.txt, your Markdown copies and your MCP manifest.
Q. Which AI provider should I use?
Whichever you already pay for. OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and DeepSeek are all supported and the quality difference on a task this small is not worth switching accounts over.
Q. Can I edit what the model wrote?
Yes, and you should read every one before publishing. The summary is stored as post meta and is editable like any other field.
Q. Will a TL;DR box hurt my time on page?
That is a real trade and worth thinking about. Readers arriving from an AI answer have already had the gist. If it worries you, generate the summary and leave the visible box off.
